Question : What payment methods do you accept?

Answer. Credit cards, Cash and payment on account (Account facilities are restricted to business customers and government bodies only)

Question : Do you supply baby seats/child booster seats?

Answer. Unfortunately not, however if you would prefer to use your own then we can store them for you for your return journey with us.

Question : What happens if my incoming flight is cancelled or I miss a connecting flight?

Answer. Avant booking staff regularly monitors all flight information with BAA. But to ensure we are correctly informed to avoid despatching a driver unnecessarily, kindly contact our office on 01727 855755 immediately to inform of any new scheduled arrival date/time/flight details. Cancellation charges may apply in line with our friendly and fair cancellation policy.

Question : Where will my chauffeur be waiting for me in the airport terminal?

Answer. The chauffeur will be awaiting you pick you up just outside in arrivals, unless you book the upgraded Avant Meet and Great Service, for only a small additional charge your chauffeur will be waiting for you inside the arrivals hall with an name board so you can easily identify the chauffeur.

Question : Can I request a particular chauffeur?

Answer. Sure you can, we live by our company motto “a drive defined… service by design” we pride ourselves in excellence of service delivered. We will always aim to allocate to a regular chauffeur to create consistency of service delivered and make your experience with us that much more personal.
You and your staff can therefore build a trusting personal relationship with your named chauffeur. If your booking is for the whole day or several days, then it is highly likely we will accommodate your request for a particular chauffeur. The only occasions you may have to consider a different chauffeur, would be, if you booked an airport transfer during an exceptionally busy period, then due to operational reasons you may have to compromise…but we will always promise a great drive with a smile.

Question : What is prohibited?

Answer. No pets are allowed in any of our vehicles for health and safety reasons, except for guide dogs, which we gladly permit. Smoking, consumption of alcohol and cooked food is prohibited, although we do provide complimentary non-alcoholic beverages on board all our vehicles for your convenience. Our chauffeurs will gladly wait for you to finish your cooked consumables alcohol before boarding.

Question : Do you offer company credit accounts?

Answer. Yes in fact we encourage you open a corporate credit account for ensure smooth stress free bookings for you and your staff, also alleviates having to deal with a mountain of manual receipts and petty cash entries for you, one simple monthly invoice from Avant Chauffeurs accounts department every month.

Depending on payment terms agreed with our booking team, your payment due date will either be weekly, fortnightly or monthly. We will send you an email with your invoice attached after every completed job.

This applies were we extend our credit facility to you, in the case of credit card or debit card account customer, we will always send you a breakdown of what jobs we have completed in addition to your invoice by email.

Question : I usually have to travel a route that is synonymous for bad traffic, will this affect my travelling costs.

Answer. The simple answer is “No extra charges” We have an honest and transparent relationship with all our lovely customers. We do not see why you should get penalised for something beyond your control. Having said that, it is always good to remember our drivers are very proficient at traffic avoidance with all their years of alternate route experience to avoid the traffic jams; although they may occasionally get affected…we are human after all
All vehicles have latest Mercedes Satellite Navigations systems fitted that dynamically check live traffic data on route.

Question : What if my plane is delayed?

Answer. The chauffeur will be awaiting you pick you up outside in arrivals, unless you book the upgraded Avant Meet and Great Service, for a small additional charge your chauffeur will be waiting for you near inside arrivals hall with an airport board with your name on.

Question : What if I only have hand luggage?

Answer. Please inform us before departure; on your return we will be in arrivals 15 minutes after your plane has landed.

Question : What if I am delayed in the terminal or on the plane after landing?

Answer. If its no fault of your own then you will not be charged, if the driver has your mobile phone number then they will contact you before hand or you can contact the driver on the contact number provided.

Question : What is the minimum time scale I can hire a chauffeured car for?

Question : What area do you cover?

Answer. Although Avant Chauffeurs are based in Hertfordshire. We cover all areas across the entire breath of the United Kingdom, from national events at exhibition centres across the country, places of business or residential locations. Our business and diplomatic customers travel from across the globe, whilst in the UK they choose to utilise Avant Chauffeurs services to drive them around their UK offices and homes.

Question : How much is it to hire one of your vehicles?

Answer. Depending on the model of vehicle and length of hire required, you can work this out from our pricing tariff page and airport transfers page on this site, or if you are unsure email us for a customised accurate quote.

Question : How much notice do I need to give before hiring a chauffeured vehicle?

Answer. As much notice as possible.
Planning ahead will avoid any disappointments, as we can be exceptionally busy most days. But we give you a simple promise, that we will endeavour to meet your needs even with tightest deadlines.

Question : What if I need to cancel my booking? Am I entitled to a refund?

Answer. Simply notify by email or a quick phone call 24 hours notice prior your booking and there will be no charge whatsoever. As you can may appreciate, if a shorter notice period than 24 hours is given, it will be highly probable we turned away business since your booking and do need to compensate our chauffeur drivers for lost work, therefore in that given situation full payment for bookings will be charged. But we also appreciate at times life can take situations out of your direct control, therefore Avant staff are trained to be flexible and accommodating to your needs, so we will judge each case on its on merits.

Question : What currencies do you accept?

Answer. All prices are quoted in UK pounds Stirling, because of the fluctuations in the currency markets it would be impossible to quote tariffs in all currencies.

Question : Are you a taxi?

Answer. No. We are a professional chauffeur service, therefore have to be pre-booked only, via phone, email or online via our website.

Question : Is Avant Chauffeurs officially licensed by a local authority or government body?

Answer. Yes. We are authorised by St Albans local authority, as are all our drivers, whom also have a police CRB check conducted prior to employment by Avant Chauffeurs.

Question : Do your car’s looks like taxis?

Answer. Absolutely not! All our vehicles are un-plated; because of the nature of our work we are exempt from displaying plates on the outside of the vehicle. All vehicles look like privately owned executive company cars.

Question : I am currently overseas in another country, how do I book a car?

Question : How long before my flight should I be at the terminal?

Answer. For most flights you should aim to be at the terminal 2/3 hours before your scheduled flight time.

Question : Travel to London in the congestion zone, will I be charged extra?

A. We keep things simple and transparent at Avant Chauffeurs, what you see if what you pay with no hidden extras. Our prices include any charges. Remember Congestion Charging is only in operation from 07.00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday.
